Printing problem?
As you can see, the build has a little half cylinder 'tab' at the top. When I printed this, the tab is... well a melted blob. Any ideas?
Tasty! What kind of material is it? Also, what's your speed multiplier set to? Could be that it's hanging around those thin areas too long?
Never seen that before on any of my printing experiments.
The material is ABS. Speed multiplier is 1.9.
That part looks really tiny though. That line paper in the background? I'm guessing that feature is just so small that too much heat is passing into it. I would try dropping the temp to 250 or even 245.
With very small objects, the skienforge 'cool' setting can be used. I spent some time printing a number of tiny pyramids, and tweking till the heat was enough to get really goot bonding near the bottom, but the tip would also form to a sharp point.
All of the skienforge settings are available to you, if you are prepared to fiddle. Key is the directory:
Program Files\Bits from Bytes\Axon 2\Skeinforge Profiles\Base
Best thing to do is save a copy of it, so you can always go back. If you look at the file 'cool.csv', this controls the cool settings. It will slow things down a lot, but does mean that very fine deatil can be achieved.
Best Wishes
- Print slower
- Print cooler
- Print in thinner layers
- make tab thicker
thanks
