Axon 3 Alpha 2 has been released on our Technical Resources downloads area. This is a minor update release that fixes a number of problems identified with Axon 3 Alpha 1. The installer will update Axon 3 Alpha 1 installations, no uninstall required.

The main changes in Axon 3 are a new build system which is much faster than previous versions of Axon, more detailed parts and triple material (colour) printing.

Please note this is an alpha release which means the software is not feature complete and has had a relatively small amount of testing carried out.

Axon 3 can be installed side by side with Axon 2.

There is no Axon 3 manual available. The principles and process are much the same as with Axon 2, therefore users of Axon 2 will hopefully find Axon 3 intuitive to use.

With the release of firmware V5.4.1, RapMan 3.2 users can now print with builds from Axon 3.

Axon 3.0 alpha 2 release notes are available (at the bottom of the page in the Axon 3 downloads table).

Hello can I ask how to adjust the model fill percentages on Axon 3? i use my 3D touch mostly on hollow objects. is this possible?

gnapoles, currently it is not possible to change part density in Axon 3.  It has always been the intention to allow adjustment of part density in Axon 3 however this feature is not yet implemented, hence the alpha status of the current Axon 3 releases.

Just printed a part using the 3.0 alpha 2, no good, reasons, percentage of infill not enough, also part need extra skins. I need to be able to tweak settings.

Also I noticed outer layers printed from the outside in as in V2, In V2,1 they printed from the inside out which was better for holes and overhangs

 

Please include at least the same level of control as V2.

did you dis-able also the multiple parts option? because I always get checksum fails.

I have tried Axon 3 (A1 and A2) with no success at all.

 

The same 1/10 of a second I click "Build", the application just disappears. No crash report or anything...

 

Axon 2 works fine.

Axon 3 alpha 1 and 2 have been released with a build timeout mechanism still active.  This is currently causing the Axon 3 to exit when the build button is clicked.  The obvious temporary work around is to set back your system time to a few days ago, however we will be releasing a fix today.

We apologise for the trouble.  Please remember this is alpha release software and not a finished product.
