Restoring settings after firmware update

Hi

I've just updated the firmware on a 3D Touch to v5.4.2.

The old settings were backed up to the USB drive, it confirmed the backup and  I can see a set_old.bin on the stick.

The firmware upgrade was successful but I can't seem to get the old settings to restore. I've followed the instructions and  when I hold the function button to power on I get no confirmation of the old settings being restored.

Any help would be most appreciated.
